Ritter became unreliable and the local authorities seized the business. Then he bought Ritter’s share in the company using a dowry provided by his fiancée, Bertha Ringer’s father.

Finally, in 1926, the two companies merged with Daimler-Benz and started producing Mercedes-Benz cars, as we know them today.

Benz’s sons, Eugen and Richard, left Benz & Cie in 1903. But Richard returned to the company in 1904 as a designer of passenger vehicles.

Karl Benz became a board member of the newly established company and remained for the remainder of his life.

Ferruccio Lamborghini Biography: The Untold Story

Have you ever listened about the Lamborghini? If yes then it is sure you also want to know about who is the creator of this luxury and expensive car. So today we will tell you about its designer. Ferruccio Lamborghini full name was Ferruccio Elio Arturo Lamborghini.

Ferruccio Lamborghini the founder of the Lamborghini car was born on 28 April 1916. In Renazzo, a little village near Bologna, Italy. He belonged to a poor family. Ferruccio Lamborghini parents were the farmer who grew grapes to make the wine. But Ferruccio soon decided that he wanted to do something with mechanics. 

Education of Ferruccio

He started working on his father’s tractor Ferruccio played with a lot of agricultural equipment and invented a lot. One of the inventions made by them burned the entire farm. Later that Ferruccio was then sent to a technical school so that he could accept more machinery. 

When he grew up, his parents arranged for him to go to an industrial college in Bologna. After a few years, he graduated with a degree in industrial engineering and started working in a repair workshop. 

Work and Experience

During World War II, he was recruited to the Italian Air Force in 1940  to working for transportation sections. Where he served as a mechanic in the Italian garrison on Rhodes Island, being a supervisor of the vehicle carrying unit. 

He became a prisoner of war by the British military forces after 1944. That had kept him to work in his motoring department, in this way. Ferruccio had the experience of having cars on the road for the first time, even with limited supplies.

He married Clelia Monti, but his wife died in 1947 while she was giving birth to the child a boy named Tonio. 

Later Second World War

He returned to his hometown after the war and opened a garage in Pieve di Cento. Where he started converting old war surplus material into tractors needed for local farmers, Lamborghini tractor business was started in a small garage, but the business became really successful and soon thereafter had to move to larger campuses. 

By now Ferruccio had also started tuning Fiat cars; He actually built a Fiat Topolino for himself and entered the Mig Miglia competition in 1948. Ferruccio modified an old Fiat Topolino he had bought in his time. His involvement ended after 1,100 kilometres when he drove the car to a restaurant in the city piano of Turin. Unfortunately, the car was ruined in the accident.

Starting of the Business

The Italian manufacturer decided to form a Lamborghini company with the target of competition with the Enzo Ferrari. It all began after the Second World War when a man gets a Ferrari sports car, in which he noticed that the clutch components were what they used on their tractors. 

For such reasons, he decided to visit Enzo Ferrari to tell him about the problems he had with his car; he could not find a solution, so he decided to make a better sports car than Ferrari. The man was Ferruccio Lamborghini. To serve its purpose, Ferruccio founded the company “Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini” in May 1963 and hired former Ferrari engineers Gianpolo Dallara and Robert Wallace to design and develop their cars.

The first car manufactured in the company was the Lamborghini 350 GT. It was far better in terms of Ferruccio’s Turin faults. The year 1967 came, and Miura was praised by all the elite media, the prototype taking the brand to a higher level of success. 

His name is due to the Spanish bullfighting livestock as the founder of Lamborghini was fond of bullfighting and hence the brand’s logo. Apart from all their cars, all his car names on these animals.

His Business

During the 1970s, Ferruccio Lamborghini’s companies suffered from financial difficulties.  In 1971, the Lamborghini Trattori, which exported nearly half of its production of tractors, when the South African importer canceled all its orders. 

In 1972, he made major investments to improve the production capacity of his factory, so that a large-scale order from South America could be followed. Sometime later, Lamborghini was informed that the order had been canceled, so the Italian was forced to sell a part of his company to get some of the money spent back.

In the same year, Georges-Henry Rosetti joined the company. In 1973, Ferruccio Lamborghini sold part of the company that was still held by Rene Leimer. 

After Life

In 1974, Lamborghini left the industrial world and retired to a 3 km² (740-acre) property called “La Fiorita” on the shores of Lake Trasimeno in Castiglione del Lago, a town in the region of Umbria in central Italy. 

Later Ferruccio Lamborghini went to live in the vineyard. It was bought a few years ago and enter into the agriculture work. Ferruccio delighted in hunting and making his own wines. Lamborghini also designed his golf course to manage several business interests.

At the age of 76 on 20 Feb 1993, Ferruccio passed away in Silvestrini Hospital in Perugia after getting a heart attack fifteen days ago after a heart attack.

Austin Coulson’s car.

Phoenix native Austin Coulson had a dream to make this car. According to the Guinness World Records website, the car is 25 inches high, 2 feet 1.75 inches wide and 4 feet 1.65 inches long. Coulson made the small beast in his garage, incorporating the body of a ‘57 Chevy Bel Air into the construction. He additionally used the engine, transmission, and drivetrain from a road-legal quad. It can not go over 25mph speed.

This small vehicle is full of features that you would normally associate with a traditional size ride: 9 inches by headlights, taillights, turn signals, rearview mirrors, seatbelt, a horn, and a 3-inch windshield. Peel P50 is one of the world’s smallest cars which is designed by Peel Engineering in 1962-1965 and remanufactured in 2010. It is a three-wheel car It is so small in fact, that it held the title of Guinness Book of World Record for the “smallest production car” for over 50 years. The Vintage Peel P50 is a great collector’s item with the character: it has no reverse gear, but a light car (250 lbs) can be picked up and carried if you want.  This small car holds the World Record for the smallest car for half a century. With a door and a headlight, Peel Engineering believes it is a symbol of automotive minimalism. Its speed can reach up to 38 mph. It has one cylinder with a single seat and the engine is placed at the front side which uses petrol to run.

Pistons to operate in cylinders adjacent to large chambers were driven by atmospheric pressure, all pistons being linked to the same crankshaft.

Since the burning cylinder was not in work, the engine can be called an internal combustion engine in the accepted sense of the word. The inventor appears to be a man of considerable force, and many of his engines were built for pumping and driving cars and boats.

Wright’s Engine

In 1833, Wright invented in England, the engine. In which gas and air were supplied to a working cylinder by separate pumps. The charge was contained in spherical bulbs near the ends of the cylinder, ignition occurs when the piston is at the end of the stroke. The engine was double acting, water-jacketed, with a poppet exhaust valve and fly-ball governor. It represented a great advance in design and was probably made, although no record of its performance exists.

William Barnet Engine

In 1838, William Barnett patented an engine in England that was an advance on earlier variants in that country. It compresses the gas and air separately, igniting the mixture when the piston was at the end of its stroke. The third engine described by this inventor is interesting. Because it embodies many features of modern two-cycle engines. 

The piston is supposed to be moving upward, compressing the mixture of gas and air. Ignition occurs when the piston has reached its highest position, and the piston went down, expansion occurs until the piston crosses the exhaust port in the middle of the cylinder. During the latter half of the stroke, the pumps force gas and air into space below the piston. Compression being completed by the working piston and an explosion when the piston reaches its lowest position.

Barsanti and Matteucci Engine

The engine of the Barsanti-Matteucci engine was made in 1857. This is interesting because it shows a type of machine that was the first to achieve real commercial success. However, this does not happen for his Italian inventions.

In this engine the gas and air exploded under the piston, which was operated upward, finally came to rest when all the work of the blast was done. The piston did this descending under atmospheric pressure. 

Lenoir’s Engine

The engine in 1860 invented by Lenoir in France was the first engine to attain considerable use. In general, it was a double-acting steam engine, with a slide valve for entry and another for exhaust.

This engine was well advertised and received considerable use. However, its economy was not very good. It was considered sufficient merit to secure the awards from the Exposition of London in 1862, Paris in 1867 and Vienna in 1873. improvement in the engine gave its inventor some prominence, but its success was Ephemeral, as the new Otto-Langen free-piston engine. Which was exhibited at the Paris Exhibition in 1867? 

The Lenoir engine recruited gas and air for part of the stroke, which was followed by an explosion and then an extension. In 1860, Beau de Rochas stated the necessary conditions for the efficiency of internal combustion engines as follows:

  • The largest volume of a cylinder with a given surface of the circumference.
  • The higher the possible velocity of the motion.
  • Largest possible expansion.
  • The largest possible pressure when the expansion begins.

Otto Engine

The famous Otto engine was invented by Dr. Nicholas Otto and was patented in 1877 in Germany. This follows the cycle described by Bue de Rocha, now known as the four cycles, or sometimes as the Otto Cycle. The engine was previously known as Otto-Silent, separating it from the free-piston engine, which was noisy.

It immediately installed an internal-combustion engine on firm-footing, and the four-cycle type engines sold today show only minor improvements. In 1876 the sliding valve is replaced by poppet valves. And the spark of electricity has been replaced by flame ignition. Otherwise, the Otto cycle of 1876 continued and thousands of them are currently being formed.
